Another week in quarantine. Another week working from home with kids. And, week one down of the consistency challenge. Usually I go to bed after 12 because my mind is racing and I’m usually researching and working on a few things. But ya’ll, the consistency challenge this week almost took me out! I was in bed right after my one year old knocked out for the night at 10 p.m. That is a rare occurrence for me around these parts.
Blogging every day is work! It is not for the faint of heart, especially if you want to add value to your audience instead of posting content just to post. There were so many times this week where I wanted to be like forget this, but I told myself that I’d do it. And I’m gonna do it! I’ll tell you what I am doing though and what I’m taking with me into next week:
DEVELOP PROCESSES FOR EVERYTHING
Having a process broken down for how to execute each blog post is way more than just a pretty picture and some words. Blogging intentionally takes work, and this consistency challenge has really opened my eyes to the process.
PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. And that's just it!
TIME BLOCK FOR PRODUCTIVITY
I can easily become distracted and often struggle with staying on task. I will have a number of tabs open in my brain and try to work on all of them at once. Time blocking is something I tried in my college years and it really did work when it came to my productivity. Going to try to implement it when possible this upcoming week.
TAKE A MENTAL BREAK
I’m the queen of overwhelming myself and not realizing when I’m doing it until I’ve reached my breaking point. Next week, I’m taking control of those moments where I truly need a break and taking one when necessary.
SHOW MYSELF MORE GRACE
As people, we can be our biggest critics, especially when things don’t go as we’d like them to. Here’s to showing ourselves a lot more grace next week. The plan isn’t to show up perfect. It’s just to show up.
