When the summer time rolls around, I am completely over dealing with my hair because of the heat and humidity! Protective styling has become a must for me these days since I'm always super busy. It has especially become important for me because these curls have been fighting with the humidity!
Of course, with protective styling, there are some things you should keep in mind beforehand.
I'm super excited to share that I am a contributor for the Kinky Curly Yaki blog! Check out my most recent post here on avoiding damage while protective styling!
Kinky Curly Yaki offers high quality natural hair extensions for us naturalistas who want to rock protective styles with believability, whether its the relaxed, sleek look of their light yaki hair, or the "big hair don't care" look from their Afro Kinky Curly hair. On top of that, the hair is 100% quality human hair! You can't beat that!
So, if you're looking for some natural hair extensions that will have you fooling everyone, definitely check out Kinky Curly Yaki!
It’s been so long since I’ve been on the blog, but I am
officially back (yay!). I’m super
excited to be back online! The blog has a new look, and I am SUPER excited
about the way everything looks thus far. Still working out a few kinks, but I
am pleased, nonetheless. Please let me know what you think about everything!
So much has happened since I’ve been away from the blog. I
really didn’t mean to stray away from blogging, life is real and stuff happens:
- I’ve been working super hard to finish up my last semester as an undergrad, and I am proud to say that ya girl is officially a college graduate! It feels so good to be free! School had taken up so much of my time and energy, and I really didn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to the things that I love most, like blogging. But, my schedule has freed up big time, so you’ll be seeing more of me in the blogosphere!
Praise
Report: The last year and a half of finishing up my degree has been super
hard. I suffered from all kinds of procrastination, writer’s block, and was
even up 6 a.m. trying to complete 8 page papers that were do in just a few
hours. #lestruggle! I’m proud to say
that I’m an English Honors graduate with a 3.7 GPA. #WontHeDoIT. I graduated with honors ya’ll!
I’m so proud of myself, and I just thank God for His grace and strength. I
truly couldn’t have made it without Him.
- I cut my hair! I cut it back in April. It was an absolute must. Remember that heat damage situation I was dealing with? And how bad I wanted to cut my hair? Yeah…that had to go. I was so tired of seeing the limp, straight pieces of hair in the back of my head in comparison to the kinks and coils that crowned the rest of my head. I was tired of hoping that my weekly/bi-weekly deep treatments would reverse it. I had to face it: heat damage is irreversible!
I wanted to go to the hair salon, but prices were very steep! Instead, I took to YouTube! I researched how to taper your hair and my husband helped me with my cut (even though he didn't want to).
Safe to say, we didn’t butcher my hair. It actually came out pretty good and I’m
pleased with my results.
That’s it for the updates for now folks. I’m just super
excited to be back to blogging yall! Blogging really just helps me disconnect
from the regular day to day of life. I love writing, and I love sharing
information that might possibly help someone, whether it be about natural hair,
beauty, things I’ve learned from my own life experiences. I’m just super
excited that I have this platform to reach out to people.
I know I’ve been gone for a while, but I’m really looking
forward to turning this space into something really special and unique and I hope
you guys are willing to rock with me for a while! Stay tuned for more posts
this week!
XO,
Danyelle
